IAED in İÇMİMAR Periodical: No. 25

Dear All, Members and Friends of IAED,

Our department is featured in the 5th issue of the İçmimar periodical, the Chamber of Interior Architects' Journal. Below is the link. You may find both the department feauture and interview and Emre Ergül Hoca's article with his student Gamze Üzen. Previously, works of our department has many times been published; also Osman Demirbaş, Seren Borvalı, Pınar Önal (now our graduate), Selin Gülden and Hande Atmaca have all contributed to the journal somehow. All are a wonderful and very valuable contribution to our department as well as our profession.

I would like to remind you that, as a department we try to take part in each issue with at least one news piece and one article. Hande Atmaca and Selin Gülden are collecting the articles and news and successfully getting them published in each issue. Since this is almost the only journal with a focus on interior architecture in Turkey and since it is the chamber's journal, I believe we should try to support it as much as we can. With our efforts, it is becoming more intellectual, more informative. So, please send us pieces about your work in your class or studios, articles related to interior architecture and design in general, trip information, exhibitions you plan to have, and the like, and I am sure it will find a good place in the journal.

Prof. Kaname Yanagisawa Visited IAED

Prof. Kaname Yanagisawa from Chiba University, Japan visited IAED to explore possibilities of an greement between two universities and to talk about his projects. He will be back at our department in September, 2013.

Dear All, Members and Friends of IAED,

Our department is featured in the 5th issue of the İçmimar journal, the Chamber of Interior Architects' Journal. Below is the link*.  Previously, works of our department has many times been published. Emre Ergül, Osman Demirbaş, Seren Borvalı,  İpek Kaştaş, Selin Gülden, Hande Atmaca, as well as Pınar Önal and Gamze Üzen (now our graduates) have all contributed to the journal in different ways. This issue contains the articles of İpek Kaştaş and Hande Atmaca on the interior-planting connection that has come more alive with our new course taught by Thomas Keogh and İpek Kaştaş, the workshop we realized with landscape architect Vojta Novotnyi and our Vertical Garden being built outside our D-Block building! 

Also in this issue, you may find the Koçtaş Competition, and our "Talking Interiors" event held together with the collaborations of Yaşar, Gediz and Kadir Has University on page 34. I thank all who have contributed for their great work!
